Task
A committee was formed by the UN to decide on policy concerning the US and British foreign policies towards Iraq. China, Russia, Germany and France decided that the war failed to comply with the charter of the United Nations, as they had not gained permission to invade.
Put yourself in the position of the UN committee members. Were the US and Britain acting as UN members should? Was the battle against Iraq the only best solution to the issue? Make sure you look at this from differing perspectives.
Look first at the legitimacy and integrity of the reasons given by the US for going to war with Iraq, seizing and then destroying weapons of mass destruction. If the UN had wanted to take action, was the US their only option to do so?
