Olympics was something you either loved, or hated, and this was usually dependent on your job for the session. Conducted over the middle weekend of the two weeks, the extra-staff were in charge of 'running' the games, while the poor cabin staff were dumped with huge groups of campers whose names they didn't know. The Team Leader Kidnap was one of Bev's more brilliant ideas, with Crystal, Dennis, Neil and Tom finding themselves tied to their hiding spots for up to an hour.
Taking place in only one session (trading off with Christmas in July and Halloween), the Extra Staff probably had more fun turning the Arts & Craft Room into South Africa than the rest of the staff had... perhaps with the exception of Delaware, who managed to fill the cabin with 35 trees.
Tea tea tiddley tea, tiddley tea for two! Upside-down tables and ridiculous hats.... eating off the dining hall floor had never been so much fun...
Unbearable heat, Kevin's storys and Bev's hyperactive songs... Opening and Closing Campfires are great fun! It was just awful seeing the fire that you spent 2 hours in the blistering heat building burn in less than 20 minutes...
Wadali-acha, Singing in the Rain, Ai Ticki Tomba... if you can remember the words or any others please send them through.

"Halloweed the last session -probably the most frightening experience of my life, having to tell a ghost story to Delaware!!! Not only did I have to put up with being stuck inside two black sacks - leading to mild dehydration & heatstroke - I also had the pleasure of being tormented by kids that hated me! However, I think Mike had the best time when someone threw one of the sand-filled rubber gloves at him in the dark and it caught him straight between the legs. All I heard was a scream in the pitch black arts & crafts room, which scared the kids much more than I did, and then Mike shouting 'Dead people have balls tooooo!!!!!' Classic mate!" I remember the second Halloween taking my excited wee girls down to Penobscot, the first cabin they had looked at. Barely got through the door and had the majority of them in tears. This was not helped when we went down to Ramsey's cabin and he grabbed one of the youngest girls and dragged her into his dark cabin where we could hear all his campers trying to scare her. The girls were hysterical!! Sara, Tigers
Your lovely webmistress wasn't a fan of Olympics and managed to avoid it pretty successfully. With the other activities, she usually didn't bother carrying her camera around unless her CITs were involved, so any photo submissions would be appreciated!
